An opportunity to have your work be part of the visual identity for the 2022 Allied Media Conference

About the Allied Media Conference

The Allied Media Conference emerges out of 20 years of relationship-building across issues, identities, organizing practices and creative mediums. Since 1999, the AMC has been an incubator of imaginative media strategies in an effort to “ignite” social justice organizing and progressive ideas.

About the collaboration

For AMC 2022, we are seeking submissions from Detroit-based illustrators, visual artists, and visual art collectives with existing 2D bodies of work that will be reproduced in whole or in part on conference materials such as:

  • Printed and digital promotions (posters, social media posts, videos, website)
  • Signage
  • Conference collateral (badges, lanyards, program book)
  • Merchandise

One body of work will be selected for AMC2022.

We will work in consultation with the artist(s) to create materials that showcase the work in its best light while also effectively promoting and communicating about the AMC. The works will be used only for AMC2022, and for archival purposes after the conference.

We are looking for work that is vibrant, colorful, and captures the sense of creation, connection, and transformation that is at the core of the AMC experience. The work will be selected based on its visual and emotional resonance with the AMC, as well as how well it will lend itself to design applications.

Long-time Detroit residents, Black, Indigenous, and people of color, disabled artists, elders, youth, LGBTQI2S, and emerging artists are all at the heart of the AMC community, and are especially encouraged to apply.
